My third idea for a music video is Milky Chance's single 'Down by the River'.
'Milky Chance is a German folk duo with reggae and electronic music influences made up of Clemens Rehbein and Philipp Dausch. Both originating from Kassel, they have several singles and one album on their own imprint, Lichtdicht Records'.
The single 'Down by the River' is about a man falling in love with a beautiful women, the couple attempt to pursue a relationship despite a troubled past.
In the video children throw eggs, paint and feathers at him as if he was foolish for thinking such a relationship could work.
My idea is based around a young couple building a tree house (or) wendy house together however the tree house would end up falling down because it was quite literally not built on stable grounds, this would ultimately resemble their relationship collapsing. Throughout the video the house would be in the centre of the shot (think stylised, like the grand Budapest hotel), though throughout the video the scenario would change, so for instance at the start when it would be built it would be a sunny day with the couple drinking wine in front of it. The house would be shot in multiple weather conditions and scenarios until it starts becoming worn and collapses proving it couldn't stand the test of time. The shots would flow to the beat of the track to emulate its fluidity.
