On the morning of our Monday shoot we franticly put together the looks of each band member. Fortunately we had many ideas and resources ready.
Ashen.. The lead singer
As previously decided we wanted to dress Ashen in a large fur coat to emulate a 'rocker' lock separating him from the rest of the band. Phoebe managed to borrow a brilliant purple one which we all loved and it suited his dark hair and complexion really well. He wore a blue collared shirt underneath with his own black skinny jeans and trainers.
As for his hair, we gave him a bandana to wear to emphasise the indie rocker look that we were going for.
We originally wanted to put army stripes on his face though we couldn't find a way to make the make up work, especially with the time constraints. We settled in the end without any make up, as it was more appropriate for him to have a clean face as he is the face of the band.
Alec.. The Guitarist
We dressed Alec in a long baggy green shirt with a denim jacket over the top, both of which were borrowed from the schools costume department. We thought that the neutral green colouring suited his fairer hair. He also wore his own jeans and trainers.
We made the most of Alec's longer hair by braiding his hair, giving his look an unexpected twist.
For Alec's make up, Sasha painted a greeny-brown hue on his forehead.
Charlie.. The Bassist
Charlie had similar colourings to Alec so we also dressed him in a borrowed long baggy green shirt that had a floral pattern on it. As we gave him a long necklace to wear we asked him to have his shirt unbuttoned connoting to the indie rocker look that we wanted to achieve. He wore his own blue jeans and brown Oxfords which both worked really well with the shirt.
Similarly to Ashen, we gave Charlie a green bandana to wear to make him look a bid 'edgier'.
As Charlie looks very similar to Alec facially and in what they were wearing we choose to avoid giving him any make up otherwise they just looked too similar.
Jonty.. The Drummer
We asked Jonty to bring his camouflage patterned trousers that we had spotted him wearing in previous weeks. He wore a white t-shirt with a black open shirt over the top, we wanted to keep his top half simple as we knew that we wanted to put face paint on him. He also wore his own trainers.
Jonty also had longer hair so we braided his hair similar to Alec's, however this time we spray painted half of his hair red making the braid more interesting.
As Jonty had really light hair and skin we chose to paint black around his eyes making them really 'pop'. We thought that this made the band look even more 'edgy'.
Charlotte.. The fairy girl
We wanted to avoid giving charlotte the same green dress to wear, as she wasn't desperately comfortable in it and it suited her dancing role better. Instead we gave here a simple long sleeved white dress, with a fur gillette and we belted it with a strip of fabric. The shorter dress created a contrast between the other element of the video.
For her hair, Sasha braided parts of her hair, as her hair was so light she was able to spray paint the braids making her hair style more interesting.
As for her make up Sasha gave her s bright pink eye look, which linked to the pink glitter that we put on her face in the dancing scenes.
